MaxDB database studio usermanagement errors

Hi,

 

I (succesfully, as far as I can tell) installed MaxDB on a Windows 7 Professional x64 Vmware virtual PC (maxdb-all-win-64bit-x86_64-7_8_02_28) and now want to also install MaxDB database studio (maxdb-studio-win-64bit-x86_64-7_9_08_01). While the installation seems to finish successfully, I'm running into errors after starting (as administrator). First error is

 

'Loading preference values failed; default values will be used

 

Reason:

Missing object type: :Loader'

 

then

 

'Could not read preferences

 

Reason:

Missing object type: :SQLSTUDIO'

 

The Event log viewer shows warnings about the utilities path not specified and again Errors about 'Missing object type:: preferences'

 

While Eclipse then starts up, it is not possible to work with the locally installed DB (which seems to be detectect, however). Again there are errors about

'Missing object type::preferences' as well as

'Could not load mounted Local Folders'

'Can not get registration preferences'

'Get login attributes failed'

'User management exception: Missing object tye::UM_CONNECTION_KEY_REPLACE_WITH_DATABASE_NAME'

 

Searching the web using these errors does result in too much help, , unfortunately, for UM_CONNECTION_KEY_REPLACE_WITH_DATABASE_NAME I do net get a single hit with google.

 

First I thought my Java SDK 1.7, is too recent, so I uninstalled DB studio and Java and tried again with Oracle jdk-6u37-windows-x64, but I'm getting the same errors. I also noted that, as it seems, the DB Studio remembered the password from the previous installation. It did not ask for a new one during the new installation but asked for the old one after I started it (I consider this a bug).

 

Any ideas anyone? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Maybe I should also note that at first I had a broken MaxDB installation (it failed to load the system tables), which I uninstalled, however and reinstalled (then succesfully).

Specifying Schema in JDBC Connection

Hi Guys,

 

MaxDB provides the possibility to logically unite several database objects (e.g. Tables, Views, Indexes, ...) in so called "Schemas".

 

However, I couldn't find any documentation about how to connect to a certain schema via JDBC. How should the JDBC URL look like? Assuming I have this kind of URL jdbc:sapdb://localhost:7200/MAXDB. Is there a way to connect to the schema "DEMO"?

Max DB start and stop

Hello Folks,

 

We have SAP system running on Max DB database. We have windows patching maintenance for that we have to stop SAP and Max DB database.

I am new to Max DB so can someone tell me the correct steps for stopping the database (including the service stopping sequence) and starting it again after the maintenance gets over.

 

We have two Max DB services running MAXDB: SID and XServer.


I checked on some document that states that taking max DB instance offline from Database manager is not a good idea.

Reset superdba password for MAXDB

Hello

 

After migrating a sapdb instance (7.3 system) to maxdb 7.6 I have problems with the superdba and the control user.s The password that I think they should be the right do not work.

 

Now I'm looking for the possibility to reset the password of superdba and/or control user.

 

Please do not send me the notes

25591 - Changing the DBM, SYSDBA and DBA user passwords

and

39439 - XUSER entries for SAP DB and MaxDB

as done in many other SDN threads. This doesn't work for me because you can change the password only if you know the actual password (standarlogins superdba/admin and control/control do not work btw).

 

Does anyone know how to reset those passwords?

Sap Trial Environment installation error

Hi,

 

I'm trying to install ABAP_Trial_7_02_SP11_Win_64_bit_Version_with_Gateway_2_0_SP04 on Windows 10 following the instructions here.

 

However, I get to a point where I receive this error:

Need MAXDB port, dafault database username and password to connect

Hi,

I am new to MAXDB and installed SAP system on Windows XP on local machine.

I have installed SAP Netweaver and while connecting to MAXDB via MAXDB Database Manager facing issue.

I am getting error as -2 ERR_USRFAIL:User authorization failed. Please check attached screenshot for more details.

 

I tried to connect via credentials provided in this thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/95219  but failed to do so.

I used following ports for connection:

 

           7200

           7210

           7269

           7270

           7575

 

Can anyone provide port, default username and password.?

error during rename in step Rename database Instance

Dear Ladies and gentleman,

 

I want to rename a sandbox system to another system-ID. Operating
system is SOLARIS and Database is MAXDB.

 

There is an error in step Rename database Instance.

ERROR 2016-01-15 12:49:15.505 (root/sapinst) id=controller.stepExecuted errno=FCO-00011
The step RegisterDatabaseInstance with step key |offlineadjustment_dialogs|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|offlineadjustment_db|ind|ind|ind|ind|db|0|SBCOPY_ADA_DB|ind|ind|ind|ind|max|0|sdb_rename_database_dia|ind|ind|ind|ind|sdb_system_rename|0|sdb_rename_database_instance|ind|ind|ind|ind|RenameDatabaseInstance|0|RegisterDatabaseInstance was executed with status ERROR .

What can be done ?

MaxDB 32 bits on Windows 7 64 bits

I folks,

I use a 32 bits IDE witch connect to MaxDB using ODBC, so i need the 32 bit driver to create a 32 bits ODBC datasource.

Everything was OK, until ia receive a brand new computer, running... Windows 7 64 bits.

When i try to install MaxDb client (7.6.06.22), i have this message:

 

Cannot create package tree: unresolved dependency: package "Database connectivity" not found.

 

I've also tried version 7.8.02.21, and i get another message:

 

Software isn't runnable on your system.

 

What must i do ?

SAP Max Database Studio 7.9.08 64 bit installation failed

Hello Colleagues,

 

I tried to install the SAP Max Database Studio 7.9.08 in a 64 bit version on a Windows 7 64bit (Intel) PC.

The newest version as SAP package "MAXDBSTDDSK7908_4-20006288.SAR" downloaded at Service Market Place.

After unzip with SAPCAR I executed the Setup "SDBSETUP.exe" with the default values.

Standard path "C:\sapdb\...

I tried es with different path like "C:\Program Files\sapdb\ ... with the same error situation

 

At SAPMax - XML Log Viewer I found serveral error's

 

ERR: Invalid value for type "path"

...

 

ERR: install registry not found

ERR: Cannot open install registry

...

ERR: Service check failed

ERR: Cannot open "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers\etc\services" to write: No such file or directory

...

 

After check with "SAP Note 1097311 - SAP MaxDB Database Studio installation" I asume the issue is related to the Registry-Key path.

 

This ist the SAP requirement:

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Windows \

SystemDirectory

Wert: "%SystemRoot%\system32" (type REG_EXPAND_SZ)

 

 

I have following values on the client PC:

 

SystemDirectory     REG_SZ     C:\Windows\SysWOW64

 

 

I don't think I can change the Windows 7 standard value/path here to the SAP value?!

 

Does anyone know the problem and how I am able to solve it?

x_start doesn't online an instance in 7.8.02.21

Hi,

 

I did a test install of 7.8.02.21 and tried to adopt our init scripts to handle the new version.

Now, I'm wondering why x_start doesn't start an instance anymore to online state:

 

/opt/sdb/globalprograms/bin/x_start INVOCADB
OK
Warning: Expected database state was ONLINE
Database INVOCADB started to status ADMIN

 

and the log shows:

Thread     0x10ED Task      -  2012-01-30 20:15:21     RunTime        3:  State changed from STARTING to ADMIN
Thread     0x10ED Task      -  2012-01-30 20:15:21     STATE      12601:  SERVERDB is ready

I can online the instance with dbmcli without any problems, but why does it not work with x_start anymore. I can't seem to find this documented somewhere.

 

IIRC x_start was useful to online an instance without knowing the DBM passwords.

 

Did I just miss something?

Using Windows based Database Studio to manage Maxdb on Unix

Hi,

 

I installed Database Studio 7.9.08.11 on a Windows PC. I have Maxdb 7.6 installed on a AIX server used for Content Server purpose. Is it possible to use Windows Database Studio to manage the Maxdb database on Unix?

 

When I start up Database Studio and try to add a new server for the Maxdb database, I got an error saying:

 

User management exception: Cannot connect to host DPSDCONT01:7210 [Connection refused: connect], -813.

 

Can someone help?

Reset SAP* password

Hi All,

We have need to reset the SAP* password because SAP* (also DDIC) is locked on client 000 and we don't have any other user. We are on MAXDB (we have also SQL Studio) so we have the error "table unknown" when we  try to excute the statement SELECT * FROM USR02 or SELECT * FROM SAPECP.USR02, where SAPECP is the owner. Obviously we want to excute the statement DELETE FROM USR02 WHERE BNAME='SAP*' AND MANDT='000'.

How can we proceed on MAXDB?

MAXDB Installation error - Some Database application might still be running

Hi All ,

 

I am trying to install SAP  trial version . While installation of MAXDB serve , I am getting an error " Some database application might still be running"

 

I dont have any other database installed on my system .

 

Kindly reply what can be the possible reason for this .

Unable to Start Sap After Performing System Copy

Hi,

 

I have a problem in starting up SAP in system BAP aftter system copy from BAD to BAP. I performed the system copy (backup and recovery) through Database Studio. The database version is 7.9.08.23. The whole process of recovery was perfomed succesfully (database BAP is in online mode). However, when I start the SAP using command startsap r3, it is said that the database must be started first even though the database is already in online mode.

 

When I ran R3trans -d, here is the result:

bapadm> R3trans -d

This is R3trans version 6.24 (release 721 - 26.09.13 - 20:13:07 ).

unicode enabled version

2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ADABAS D                         --- DBNAME = ''"

R3trans finished (0012).

 

On the trans.log, I found this entry:

     4 ETW000  [dbsdbsql.cpp,00000]  *** ERROR => Connect to database failed, rc = -4008 (POS(1) Unknown user name/password combination)

 

Is this related to the source database name is different to target database? Is there anyway to change the username/password mentioned on the trans log?
