Today SAP released the new patch for SAP MAXDB: 7.9.08.26.
But when I added it to Download Basket and then download it I get following error:
"You are not authorized to download selected object"

Why SAP release public something and it is impossible to download?
When customers can download the latest patch for SAP MaxDB and why older versions are not also downloadable?

I am new to MAXDB and installed SAP system on Windows XP on local machine.
I have installed SAP Netweaver and while connecting to MAXDB via MAXDB Database Manager facing issue.
I am getting error as -2 ERR_USRFAIL:User authorization failed. Please check attached screenshot for more details.
I tried to connect via credentials provided in this thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/95219 but failed to do so.
I used following ports for connection:
7200
7210
7269
7270
7575
Can anyone provide port, default username and password.?

I have installed SAP Netweaver developer Studio 6.40 which installed MAXDB database also. Due to some reason I had to unistall the trial version of Developer studio, in this process developer studio got unistalled but not MAXDB.

I use Add/Remove programs and uninstall MaxDB. I get the messages like this.....
Start uninstallation now (y/n) : Y (resoponse)
then message displays
found instance of J2E, cannot remove package..first remove all instances...

I have stopped all the services, even then Iam getting such error message. How do I uninstall?
Help needed.

Its ok disable log when using MaxDB only for DataWarehouse? this can speed up ETL?

I've worked on and off with SCM/APO systems and MaxDB liveCaches for years now, but I've never come across this quirk.
As part of our standard operating of MaxDB liveCaches we always use TIME-BASED Automatic Log Backups. We set them to backup every 10 minutes (see image below). I've not had any issues with this but during a system migration I've noticed that the logs are NOT being generated every 10 minutes on the target and I wondered to myself if this is because there is no activity yet?
i.e. should it keep automatically generating new logs every 10 minutes even if there is no activity?
If not then, and here is the KEY QUESTION, how can I check the Automatic Log Backup settings that are active?
I'm assuming there is a simple DBMCLI command for this but I haven't found it yet/

I am trying to upgrade from SAP Content Server 6.40 with MaxDB 7.5 on 32-bit platform, to SAP Content Server 6.50 with MaxDB 7.9 on 64bit architecture.
I have DBStudio 7.9.08.25 and 7.9.08.8 MaxDB instance for the SDB and CDB on the target server
I have also created backups of the SDB and CDB on the source server and copied the files to the target server. However, when I try to receover the medium, I get error message "-24994 Runtime environment error 1, wrong file or device name".
I have reviewed sap notes 129352 and 767598. I am trying to find the glossary entry "System Copy" as mentioned on the first page of 129352, but to no avail.
Any help as always greatly appreciated.

I use a 32 bits IDE witch connect to MaxDB using ODBC, so i need the 32 bit driver to create a 32 bits ODBC datasource.
Everything was OK, until ia receive a brand new computer, running... Windows 7 64 bits.
When i try to install MaxDb client (7.6.06.22), i have this message:
Cannot create package tree: unresolved dependency: package "Database connectivity" not found.
I've also tried version 7.8.02.21, and i get another message:
Software isn't runnable on your system.
What must i do ?

After restoring the DB while i m trying to bring the SAP Instance up, i m getting "DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 000256" in Syslog.
Can anyone tell me how this can be solved.
The DB is MaxDB 7.6.05.15 & SAP ECC 6.0.

I (succesfully, as far as I can tell) installed MaxDB on a Windows 7 Professional x64 Vmware virtual PC (maxdb-all-win-64bit-x86_64-7_8_02_28) and now want to also install MaxDB database studio (maxdb-studio-win-64bit-x86_64-7_9_08_01). While the installation seems to finish successfully, I'm running into errors after starting (as administrator). First error is
'Loading preference values failed; default values will be used
Reason:
Missing object type: :Loader'
then
'Could not read preferences
Reason:
Missing object type: :SQLSTUDIO'
The Event log viewer shows warnings about the utilities path not specified and again Errors about 'Missing object type:: preferences'
While Eclipse then starts up, it is not possible to work with the locally installed DB (which seems to be detectect, however). Again there are errors about
'Missing object type::preferences' as well as
'Could not load mounted Local Folders'
'Can not get registration preferences'
'Get login attributes failed'
'User management exception: Missing object tye::UM_CONNECTION_KEY_REPLACE_WITH_DATABASE_NAME'
Searching the web using these errors does result in too much help, , unfortunately, for UM_CONNECTION_KEY_REPLACE_WITH_DATABASE_NAME I do net get a single hit with google.
First I thought my Java SDK 1.7, is too recent, so I uninstalled DB studio and Java and tried again with Oracle jdk-6u37-windows-x64, but I'm getting the same errors. I also noted that, as it seems, the DB Studio remembered the password from the previous installation. It did not ask for a new one during the new installation but asked for the old one after I started it (I consider this a bug).
Any ideas anyone? Any help would be appreciated.
Maybe I should also note that at first I had a broken MaxDB installation (it failed to load the system tables), which I uninstalled, however and reinstalled (then succesfully).

When i am trying to restore MAX DB data from source to destination, I got below error:
-24988 SQL error [backup_restore "<SID>_DB_BACKUP" DATA]; -7900, Different Block Sizes

Maxdb Studio is not starting after some Windows updates. I've reinstalled it but nothing changes, it simply does nothing and I don't receive any error message.
I execute the program as Administrator and MaxDB is up & running.
My Dbstudio version is maxdb-studio-win-64bit-x86_64-7_8_02_21 under windows 7 x64 and Java 1.8.0_25.
Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be?

Hi Everyone,
after moving the productive ERP system to a new HP box we
are experiencing bad performance (that what users "feel").
The new box is a HP server making use of Intel E5-4640 CPUs
which means 4 sockets with 8 cores each and Hyperthreading
activate. This makes a least 64 CPU showing up in Windows
Task Manager.
We configured MaxDB using 64 GB RAM (total 128 GB) and
set MAXCPU = 24. On the system there is a SAP central
instance running (ERP 6.0 EHP4).
But still we can see that CPU cores will not be used more
than 10 to 15 % all over the day. So it seems the server is
bored.
What would be suggestion to set MAXCPU? Is it relevant
in a performance context?

Since two weeks I'm not able to start a NW7.3 System. After several checks I figured out that the database (MaxDB 7.8 on Windows) does not start. There were no changes in Hardware or OS, Kernel was not updated/upgraded. The System was running since installation in May 2012.
dbmcli db_enum does work:
But my problem is, that when I run dbmcli -u superdba,***** -d NWD db_online, there is no further reaction. Unfortunatelly the MaxDB logfiles (knlmessage etc.) were not updated, so I have no hint what I should check as nect.

So my question would be: is there any other MaxDB tool or log file, which can help me to solve this issue - or get at least a hint on the reason why the database can't start any more? Or maybe is an update to 7.9 a possible solution?

Hi Everyone.
I am recovering a Content server database as part of the upgrade process of Content server 6.40 (32-bit) to Content server 6.50 (64-bit).
The source database version is MaxDB 7.5.00.51, the target database is version is 7.9.08.08. I am using DBStudio version 7.9.08.25 and following SAP notes 9620109 and 129352.
I have created backups of the source system using the DBStudio and transferred the files to the target server. I can recover the SDB database without any issues, however when I try to recover the CDB instance I get the following error:
Am I missing something? The file definition is the same for both the source and the target.

Hello, please I need your help to solve this problem. I've upgraded
MAXDB from 7.7.04.28 to 7.7.7.28. Then we tried by mistake to recover a DB
backup with Max db database studio and it finished with error. Then we
