I need to set automatic backup in MaxDB, i have seen automatic option for logs but not for Full database, Can anyone explain how we can do this.

I want Full backup on daily basis along with logs.

I am new to MAXDB and installed SAP system on Windows XP on local machine.

I have installed SAP Netweaver and while connecting to MAXDB via MAXDB Database Manager facing issue.

I am getting error as -2 ERR_USRFAIL:User authorization failed. Please check attached screenshot for more details.

I tried to connect via credentials provided in this thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/95219  but failed to do so.

I used following ports for connection:

           7200

           7210

           7269

           7270

           7575

Can anyone provide port, default username and password.?

We are doing our SCM upgrade from 4.1 to 7.0 with migration. We have completed with the upgrade but before doing the LC upgrade we need to upload the data to the LC using the  /SAPAPO/OM_LC_UPGRADE_70, while doing this it gives an error for connectivity to the LC. From DB59, i checked the connection test fails for "Native SQL" (LCA) step.

I am trying to install SAP  trial version . While installation of MAXDB serve , I am getting an error " Some database application might still be running"

I dont have any other database installed on my system .

I installed the content server and maxdb.

1- After install of content server and maxdb, how do I find out the maxdb is running or not?

2- Is there a command to check status of maxdb instance and name of database of maxdb?

3- How do I start maxdb with dbmcli?

4- What is the parameter file of maxdb and it's location (just like Oracle has a parameter file init.ora)?

In Phase MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT i get Severe Error becuase the shadow instance won't get up.

When i try to test connection i get this Error:

we use SAP DMS system with content server in MAX DB. Is there some possibility to restore deleted file by user? I read a lot information on internet about it, but everywhere is information, it's not possible. I'm a little surprised, because restore of deleted file in standard DMS system is necessity. Without this possibility is very big risk use this DMS in company.

I believe, there is some way. Please, help me.

Hi Guys,

MaxDB provides the possibility to logically unite several database objects (e.g. Tables, Views, Indexes, ...) in so called "Schemas".

However, I couldn't find any documentation about how to connect to a certain schema via JDBC. How should the JDBC URL look like? Assuming I have this kind of URL jdbc:sapdb://localhost:7200/MAXDB. Is there a way to connect to the schema "DEMO"?

On our Datbase I used the following Query :

select max(ROID) FROM READOUT WHERE AMID = 101721 AND STATE IN ( 'K','M','C' )

and got the Result:

EXPRESSION1

2153087

This is wrong what I checked via :

select * FROM READOUT WHERE AMID = 101721 AND STATE IN ( 'K','M','C' )

ORDER BY ROID DESC

my quick solution was to use:

select max(ROID),max(ROWANN) FROM READOUT WHERE AMID = 101721 AND STATE IN ( 'K','M','C' )

with the result:

EXPRESSION1     EXPRESSION2

7235411               2013-11-22 09:02:38.0

And the Value 7235411 was the one I expected and is obviosly greater than 2153087

but what happens there, and how could we make shure that we dont have same effects in other ends of our Application

I guess it might be tha case if alle Values could be catched out if the index.

so backup is failing because "cannot open xparam file". i have searched the whole system. couldn't fine anything releant there. i have searched service marketplace and understood that X_PARAM is used for APO 1.1. this in SCM 7.0 . so not relevant.

I am trying to reset SAP* password in my MAXDB DB 7.6.  I know that is a very simple operation and I did it many times in other DBs , but here I  have stuck  during whole day .

I have connected to SQL Studio as SUPERDBA .

My SAP Schema  is "SAPIDS" .

To access usr02 table I run the following SQL :

select MANDT, BNAME, UFLAG from SAPIDS.USR02 where MANDT='000' and BNAME='SAP*'

, but I got the error thet the table does not exist .

I also tried:

select MANDT, BNAME, UFLAG from "SAPIDS"."USR02" where MANDT='000' and BNAME='SAP* ,

select * from SAPIDS.USR02 ; select * from "SAPIDS"."USR02" ;

I switch to Oracle mode also , but Nothing is working !

Also important to say that sql :

select * from tables where owner='SAPIDS'and tablename='USR02'

shows the USR02 table as well .

Any ideas ?

Recently we are facing some backup issues with backup tool COMMVAULT backing up database MAXDB. This problem is really strange as it happens intermittent. Dear Experts,

We are in planning of upgrade SAP Content server from 6.3 to 6.4 and MaxDB from 7.3 build 35 to 7.8.

For Content server upgrade is that we need to install the Content server 6.4 and install the latest MaxDB 7.8 and export and import the data.

We are on Win 2003 32 Bit and we are migrating to win 2008 R2 64 Bit.

Is it possible directly using database copy and restoring in MaxDB 7.8 version?

Or we need to use loadercli for migrating the data.

for content server upgrade is by replacing latest dll files at the respective dir.

We have upgrade the sap kernel and also the above said dbsl library, and it exists in the exe directory, But still nothing seems to work...

Can someone give any ideas ??

Hi,

We are running an SCM upgrade from 5.1-> 7.0

We upgraded our dev system fine. We are now in QA and running the prepare at phase PREP_CNVCHECKS/REQ_APOUPG0. 

Option # 3 of section A of  /SAPAPO/OM_LC_UPGRADE_70 runs job name SYNC_LC_DB_DP, program /SAPAPO/OM_SYNC_LC_DB.  Most planning versions run ok, but for ZDP01, this one has been running for over 30,000 seconds and it looks like it is not doing anything in liveCache or the SCM database.

Is there some way to determine what is going on with this job? We'd like to move on with the prepare...
